Enjoy a wonderful walk which is perfect for all including those with mobility difficulties. The pathway, which is suitable for wheelchair users, is a carefully graded pathway with regular resting places along the way. The total length of the path which provides stunning views over the former Skating Pond is 700 metres (about 1/2 mile).

 The walk starts from a car park adjacent to the path. The car park is about 1500 metres (about 1 mile) from Golspie. Travel north from  Golspie on the A9 and turn left at the first junction -  it is signposted “Backies” and “ Big Burn Walk”. The car park is a further 500 metres ( about 1/3 mile) on the left hand side.
